This Anthurium belongs to the Araceae or Aroid plant family and is native to western and northern Brazil into Peru, Bolivia, and Paraguay.
The most notable feature of Anthurium plowmanii is its large, wavy, strap-like leaves. The leaves are leathery, glossy, and can grow up to several feet long. The undulating edges give the plant a dynamic appearance, often compared to ocean waves. It is a terrestrial or epiphytic plant, meaning it can grow on the ground or on other plants, respectively. It typically forms a rosette of leaves resembling a bird s nest.
